Nantucket Daffodil Festival

nantucket daffodil festival

Celebrate the awakening of spring on Nantucket. Daffodils are planted by islanders each fall in anticipation of spring and are abloom all over the island at the end of April. This event began simply over 30 years ago with an antique car parade followed by a community tailgate picnic in ‘Sconset.

Today, the Daffodil Festival includes art shows, tours, exhibitions, contests, lectures, the Nantucket Daffodil Flower Show in addition to the original antique car parade and tailgate picnic. There are activities for all ages, and festival-goers typically dress in yellow for the occasion. Enter the Daffy Hat Contest; join the Children’s Parade on a decorated bike, stroller, wagon, or other self-propelled vehicles.
