The Periwinkle Inn is a Greek Revival house, an architectural style that dominated the island from the whaling era of the 1830s till the Civil War. Located on North Water Street, historically known as “Guest House Row,” it is within walking distance of the ferries, downtown shopping, restaurants, Jetties and Children’s Beach, Brant Point Lighthouse and the historic Atheneum Library and Whaling Museum.
Several rooms peek at Nantucket harbor, others at our lovely gardens in this historic neighborhood. Our furnishings hark back to the style of the whaling era and in each room, you will find a copy of Moby Dick by Herman Melville to wile away the afternoon at the beach or in the garden.
Continental breakfast includes juices, coffee, tea, yogurt, fresh fruit and incredible baked goods. Our Concierge is available to help answer your questions and make dinner and tour reservations.
The WAVE bus stop is on the corner and the various routes can take you to the lovely Sconset and Madaket beaches. The Miacomet 18 hole public golf course is just 4 miles away and the Sankaty Head Golf Course is available for a round from mid-October through the spring season.
